Web Design
Web Design usually means designing the 'face' of a website... the parts a visitor will see. It does not typically mean creating the code and mechanics 'behind the scenes' as well. The coding is sometimes done separately by a Web Developer. However, I personally do both. I can design and build a website for your business that not only looks great, but also becomes an asset for your business. This could be capturing and passing on leads directly to your email inbox, or building a mailing list for you automatically, or taking bookings or orders, sending automated replies and content to your mailing list, or by making sales directly from your website. I believe your website should work FOR you and have a purpose (generate leads, build your list, give value and content, take bookings or orders, make you money!) otherwise it's just a pretty online brochure. If you like the idea of this, let's talk, Contact Me today!
Web Development
Web Development usually means creating the code and mechanics of a website - all the stuff your visitors DON'T see. Development usually doesn't involve designing the 'front end' of a website, only the 'back end'. This means the actual source code, scripts, databases, forms and more. However, I usually do both for my clients unless they specify they only want the design or the development. Most clients are not even aware of the difference and assume they mean the same thing. Most designers actually develop as well because both services go hand in hand. If you have an existing website or design that you just need developing, Contact Me to discuss your requirements and we'll make a plan to develop your current design or existing website.
Online Marketing
Marketing is vital to your online success. No matter how great your website is, if nobody knows you're there, it's pointless. If you can't communicate effectively with your exisiting customers, you're also missing out. SEO is different from Marketing. SEO deals with getting your website found on Google (search engines) when people search for what you do/offer. But you can actively market your business online and bring traffic to your website in many other ways. Advertising your site with banner ads on other sites, PPC (google adwords), Facebook Ads, articles, forum and blog posts, submission into directories and local business directories, social bookmarking, video marketing, affiliate marketing, email marketing and more. If you're not doing any of these things, you are leaving money on the table and not utilising all these sources of traffic. Contact Me ASAP to get started with an online marketing plan.
E-commerce / Online Stores
If you require an online store, I can design and create this for you. The only thing you will need to do, is set up an account with a payment processor to receive your payments (paypal, google checkout, nochex or a merchant account with your bank). I can assist with the setup of your payment processor in most cases, if needed. I usually build all my online store using CubeCart shopping cart software, because you can do anything with it and make an amazing online store to sell either physical products or digital downloads.

CMS Solutions
CMS (Content Management System) websites give the client access to login and update their own website 24/7 without any technical knowledge. Most CMS websites have a 'dashboard' when the owner (client) logs in, and from there you can add, amend or delete any pages on the website, or make changes to the site without having to ask your web designer to do it for you. They're EASY to use, very secure, and offer the most flexibility for all involved. They're often beneficial to the designer/developer too, as they're often cross-browser compatible and they can make quick and easy changes if requested by the client. The search engines LOVE CMS WEBSITES - they are structured very well and easy for the search engines to crawl. I recommend a CMS website for most clients as there are virtually no negatives about them - it's all positive. They're perfect for small sites, medium or large sites, membership sites, mini-sites, brochure sites, club sites, blogs and much more.

SEO
Getting your website to show up on Google (or any other search engine) when a user types in what they're looking for, is called SEO (search engine optimisation). SEO is just ONE PART of marketing your website, and it's so in-depth that it's an entire service on it's own. There are two types of SEO, on-site SEO and off-site SEO. On-site SEO means changing the actual pages and coding of the website itself to make it very search engine friendly, and help the website get found for the keywords you want to be found for. Off-site SEO means doing things AWAY from the website itself or on OTHER websites, to help the website get found and ranked for your chosen keywords. BOTH are important. Doing one or the other is not generally effective. On-site SEO needs to happen FIRST. Then off-site SEO can take place, with social bookmarks, backlinks, related forum and blog posts, article submission, directory submission, yahoo answers submission and many other techniques.
SEO Techniques - White Hat SEO are techniques used that are tried and tested, and perfectly acceptable to everyone. Grey Hat SEO techniques are mostly OK, but sometimes unproven or frowned upon by some. Black Hat SEO techniques are just plain bad. They can often get good short term results, but they can also harm your website. I usually stick to White Hat techniques, and sometimes a few Grey Hat methods if required to get the result a client wants.
